Michiel de Jong
Also known as Michaël de Jong (real name) was born in Tiel, the Netherlands in 1983. Music has always been a very important part in Michiel's life. In his childhood he listened a lot to music, broadcast-shows in particular.
His interest in electronic dance music began in the late 90s, after having been introduced to tracks from acts such as Cygnus X and Tiesto. As this interest grew, he was eventually encouraged to start producing his own tracks.
To improve both musical — and technical — skills, he in 2004 started studying at SAE (School for Audio Engineering) in Rotterdam. After a very intensive course he received his Audio Engineering diploma. Almost immediately there was offered him a part-time job at 2 broadcasting stations. Next to the basic stuff e.g. mixing, editing, programming etc. he started broadcasting his weekly radio shows.
Later that year he was approached by IDP / dj-school, (known from the Technics Dutch Dance Charts). Together with Mi7 they started producing courses (Steinberg Cubase, Ableton Live, Reason, etc.).
To fulfil his needs, a professional recording studio was needed, he decided to take a full time job as well. In the beginning of 2007 he finished his own recording studio. At this moment he is really busy with his latest tunes and new plans for this year.
Melodic, Uplifting Trance would be the best way to describe his productions. Refreshing melodies combined with emotions....
Brave
DJ Brave (Egypt, Cairo) started in 2000 with an unusual passion to electronic music particularly trance/progressive where he decided to take a part in this amazing culture!
He started producing in 2002 and this was the real start! He was given the chance to spin Nile Fm's HotMix regularly (Egypt's best dance music radio show) after it's opening with a short time. After a while he started to spread rapidly and play more other places like Latex, Auc and other private parties ...
Akkiles
Akkiles has been attracted to musical composition and production from an early age. Classical training as a concert pianist provided an understanding of musical styles through the ages, and became a foundation for experimentation in various genres. This has culminated in a distinct trance sound influenced by many diverse styles of music.
Andy Tau
Andy Tau is the production alias of UK based producer Andy MacDougall. From his Studio in Leeds Andy produces a range of styles from trance to progressive house and electro. Taking influence from DJs as diverse as Steve Lawler and Solarstone and clubs like The End in London and Gatecrasher in Sheffield he is not pinned down by one genre but experiments in anything and everything, which is represented by the variety of the tracks and the fusion of styles in each track he produces. His recent trance and progressive productions have been picked up by by labels Monster Tunes and Bonzai, his first release through Progrez, a sublabel of Bonzai is a remix of Irish DJ/Producer Melly's Into Deep, a progressive track with a hammering bassline. His track Prevolution has also been released through the same label, again with a big bassline and stabs this has seen support by Solarstone who played it on their Deepblue Radio Show (the 2nd track of Andy's they have supported). Revelations, a solid peak time trancer has been signed by Monster Tunes UK, due for release late 2007. Other tracks due for release include a deep progressive track Drum Culture, and an anthemic trance track, The Path. With tracks signed to top labels and growing DJ support Andy's tracks are worth keeping an ear out for.
Tim Besamusca
Tim opened his eyes for the first time on Saturday 16 November 1985, in Utrecht (The Netherlands). At a young age he already came in touch with music, his mother played the piano and he often listened to the radio. In the second half of the nineties he started to love music so much that he wanted to be a part of it, so he started to create his own music.
He spread his music via the internet and received a lot of positive feedback. A couple of his tracks were played on the popular show "The Subtraxx experience" on internet-radio station Di.fm.
His main style can be described as tech-trance with a melodic touch, but he occasionally likes to experiment with funky bass lines and dreamy melodies.
Tim also started to explore the art of DJ'ing and in January 2006 he got to spin at the party "Fuser invites... Benjamin Bates" which was a great success! Nowadays he spins at an increasing number of various small parties in and around the city of Utrecht.
Trancience
Trancience is an international collaboration between prolific electronic producers, Andy MacDougall from the UK, and Franklin van Uden from Holland. The collaboration began in 2005 with several unreleased, but highly regarded, trance tracks being produced. Their collaboration has since expanded significantly to the point where they have started their own imprint Future State Records.
Drawing on Andy's feel for rhythm and Franklins uncanny ability to get a great tune, both their productions and their label are going from strength to strength, making 2007 a big year for the duo. Their first official release as Trancience is on their own label, with several other tracks in the making, so watch this space for some storming dance floor trance both from Franklin and Andy and the Future State stable.
Jonny Laris
Jonny Crozet, aka Jonny Laris is relatively new on the scene, with his first release being The Enemy in July 07, a driving tech trance track with subtle melodies and infectious grooves with an uplifting trance mix by Experiential.
Jonny started out producing in 2001 with Paul McLaughlin aka Tech Junkie, another Irish producer, during which many tech tracks and psy vibe productions were made. Jonny used Propellerheads Reason 2.5 for around 5 years until changing to Cubase SX mid 2007. He now makes a variety of styles ranging from hard tech trance, to funky electro music.
Jonny is also a kit drummer and has played since the age of 10 and still continues to play for bands over Northern Ireland. This comes in useful for programming drums in many tracks and in future productions he hopes to include some live drums for the more funky styles.
The name Laris came from “Singularis”, a collaboration name between Jonny and Paul back in 2001. Singularis comes from the Latin, meaning “Unique”. The pair of producers thought it was a fitting name for their unique style of tech / psy productions. In 2003 Jonny then started producing tracks on his own and took the later part of the name to end up with Laris, and kept it in his name to remember how he started out producing.
Jonny has dedicated a lot of time to producing lately and hopes to release as much as he can in the year. Expect to see some new tracks by him shortly on FSR.
